Recent WebUpdates

Our major achievement over the past three months, at customer request, has been the completion of the process of removing the questions for the Judicial Council and local forms, enabling you to go directly to the form during an assembly session. Other changes include:
  • Business Transactions Solution - We completely re-organized this volume. The form selector numbers and links to Westlaw were changed to match the updated source material. We also removed two forms that were no longer available.
  • Federal Criminal Defense – We updated numerous Administrative Office of the U.S. forms and state forms and removed forms that are no longer valid.
  • Certified Mailer feature - We updated the Certified Mailer feature for the new postage rates that were effective in April.

Customer Questions from the Last WebNotes
The following questions were from ProDoc customers in response to the last ProDoc WebNotes.

Q: We would like to create a database with all of the addresses in our client list. We will be moving soon. Any suggestions? We have all of the Microsoft programs and WordPerfect.
A: Read about how to export client data from ProDoc to create client lists >>

Q: Are the updates to ProDoc still being sent via a CD?
A: Read about the difference between WebUpdates and CD update >>

Q: Staff members advise that the HUD-1 form in ProDoc is not user friendly. It appears that you can go through the motions to fill out the form, however, you are not able to save it in a format in which you can go back to make changes and have it recalculate. The form is saved in a .pdf format. When changes have to be made, they have to re-enter ALL of the information again. Are they not using the program properly or is this correct? If this is correct, can ProDoc fix this issue?
A: Read about how to view all the decimal places in HUD-1 fields >>

Q: I saw that ProDoc is available in 64-bit, but it’s installed on my server and running in 32-bit mode. How do we get the 64-bit version? When we install it, will it automatically uninstall the 32-bit version and install?
A: Read about ProDoc running in a 64-bit environment >>

Legal Humor

Overheard in the courtroom:

By Defendant: Judge, I want you to appoint me another lawyer.

By the Court: And why is that?

Defendant: Because the Public Defender isn't interested in my case.

The Court (addressing the public defender): Do you have any comments on the defendant's motion?

By the Public Defender: I'm sorry, Your Honor. I wasn't listening.
